Treasurer

David is a Chartered Accountant and an experienced Director working in the Charity and Education sectors. He works as Director of Finance with the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution.

David initially worked in the corporate sector with KPMG and Ernst & Young before becoming Director Finance & Services with BMS World Mission and then the Baptist Union from 2000 to 2015. He has also held Director roles in the education sector with the Oxford Diocesan Schools Trust and the Berkshire Schools Trust. During this time he also supported the DFE in writing GDPR guidance for schools and was a member of the ESFA working group that developed annual financial guidance for Academies.

David has held a number of senior Non-Executive roles in the charity sector including as a board member and Trustee of the National Council of Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) and the Charity Aid Foundation(CAF).  David is Chair of the CAF Pension Scheme. He writes regularly in the charity press from his perspective as a Finance Director including articles on technology and governance. He has an international qualification in cyber security.

David and his wife Joy started a church plant in their garage in 2008 which is now a thriving multicultural congregation.  David is an Elder and Chair of Trustees in his local church. He has a passion for the life changing power of education and developing new leaders.
